Elisabeth Darlington Font has been in the making for quite some time. I set out to design a script where the letters connect in a natural flow but still keep a spontaneous, handwritten character. It’s not the kind of script where letters simply stand side by side. I worked to give it a sense of movement and authenticity.
The font comes in two styles: Regular and Upright (for a slightly straighter look,).
There are two kinds of swashes included. First, the attachable swashes : these can be added to lowercase letters. Please note that for seven specific letters, where I chose to keep the original gel ink effect, swashes won’t connect automatically. You can swap these for alternate versions if you’d like to add swashes.
The second type is non-attachable swashes, which are built into certain letters. These follow a different style from the attachable ones, except for a few uppercase letters at the beginning of words where the swash styles are similar. You can mix and match them as you like.
Elisabeth Darlington includes 719 glyphs. The font supports Basic Latin, Western European, and Central European languages.
